The live diary of an opinionated woman, disabled by chronic illness:
When I started to blog, it was because I was bedbound by chronic illness. It took me a long time, and a lot of energy I didn’t have, to get diagnosed. And since then, I have managed to experience even more shit.
Medical discrimination, sexism, ableism, mental health predujices, the abusive disgrace that is the UK benefits system…
So, having ‘given up’ blogging exclusively about my chronic illness and disability (because I didn’t want to make it all I was about), I am now picking it back up (because it is some of what I’m about, and it’s been unnecessarily tough).
I’m doing this: partly as a form of therapy and communication for myself, and partly in an attempt to highlight some of the issues chronically ill and disabled people face, as well as how we’re supposed to navigate them!
